Dr. Joseph Ricci is a Staff Cardiologist at Lakeridge Health and Scarborough Health Network. He is a lecturer in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is the director of Central East Cardiovascular Rehabilitation, the largest service in Canada. Dr Ricci was the prior Medical Director the CELHIN regional cardiac care service (1990-2006) and CELHIN vascular lead (2002-2005). He has been a participant in multiple provincial and CELHIN committees. With a longstanding interest in regional care systems and Lean-based quality processes, He was part of a team that worked with the Ministry of Health to bring advanced cardiac services to the CELHIN. An advocate for population health and prevention of vascular disease is the Chair of the Corcare Quality and Education Platform. Dr. Ricci initiated and has chaired the “Excellence in Cardiac Care” education event for primary care physicians for the past 22 years. Dr. Ricci is a certified level 3 (teaching) CSIA ski instructor who golfs avidly and enjoys cycling, woodworking, Jazz, and listening to vinyl recordings.
